Minnesota History

Isle Royale is the largest island in Lake Superior. Recognized as a National Park, Isle Royale is an important animal habitat with Bears, Moose, and the famous Timber Wolf. Isle Royale's ancient history and isolated location has long attracted people from all over the world. Accessible only by boat, Isle Royale remains a mysterious yet beautiful region of Lake Superior.

Even more interesting is the presence of mines and tools over 5700 years old. It is theorized these tools were used to mine the vast copper deposits within the island.
